Payactiv Savings — set a goal, hit it automatically
Payactiv Savings is built directly into the Payactiv app. You can:
- Create goal buckets (Emergency, Holiday, Rent, Car Repair) and set a target amount.
- Automate paycheck splits — route a fixed dollar amount from each payroll deposit straight into a goal.
- Turn on round-ups — every Payactiv Card swipe rounds up to the nearest dollar, with the change moved into your chosen goal.
- Track progress visually inside the Payactiv app's savings dashboard.
Payactiv Perks — the in-app discount engine
Perks is a curated discount marketplace available only to members. The marketplace rotates, but typical categories include:
- Prescription savings — a built-in prescription discount card accepted at most major U.S. pharmacies.
- Uber & Lyft — load rideshare credit at a discount.
- Amazon Cash prepay — top up Amazon balance from the card.
- Walmart Pay & Walmart grocery — direct checkout from the app.
- Phone bill & wireless top-ups at participating carriers.
- Streaming services and family entertainment rotating offers.
The app surfaces these in a "Perks" tab. Each offer displays the exact discount, the merchant and the redemption method.
How Payactiv Savings compounds with EWA
Here is the pattern we see work best:
- You use EWA once or twice in a tight month to avoid a payday loan.
- You simultaneously turn on $10/paycheck Savings auto-transfer.
- Within 6 months, the Savings bucket covers most unexpected $100–$300 bills — so you no longer need EWA for those situations.
- EWA remains available for genuine emergencies, but your reliance on it drops.
- By month 12, you have a working emergency fund inside the service, zero payday loans, and your card is handling direct deposit two days early.
Can you lose money in Payactiv Savings?
Savings is a cash-savings feature, not an investment account. Funds are held in the issuing bank's custodial account and are eligible for FDIC pass-through insurance up to applicable limits. There is no market risk — your balance can only go up as you contribute, or down as you withdraw.
